Would you consider yourself a master of the arts of grilling? Are you a avid meat smoker? The call is out.
WE NEED YOU!!
We are planning on doing some Smoked Western Briskets for our 2 field service days. We are calling out so see if any would be able to help with the cooking of 1 or 2 briskets. If you have the means to do this, please reach out to the FSD Team. Thank you friends for all your hard work.
It is official! We have our venue booked for the upcoming FSD. It is the Standard Community Center.
The dates booked are July 28 - 30th.
This means we will be able to set up on the 28th and tear down on the 30th after the delegates leave. Camping is also available, with some powered sites available. If you would like to join in group camping (non-powered), please reach out to Brother Al Lakatos. If you would rather reserve a powered site, you will have to book on the website "campspot.com". The powered sites are roughly $25-$30 per night.
Originally, as some of you were aware, we had Lyalta as our planned venue. However, once we got our official Service days, the Lyalta community center no longer worked. This meant we had to find a new venue for our selected days, during a time in Strathmore where it is very busy due to the Strathmore Rodeo. However, Jehovah was working hard behind the scenes, and managed to arrange for us to have the "Standard Community Center" as our venue, which is bigger, newer, and much more cost effective. We praise Jehovah for this blessing, and we know it'll be a huge success because we have our loyal God on our side. (Psalm 118:1)
Many are wondering what they can provide, regarding decorations. We have a list thats been provided on the Entertainment tab. If you have any questions, please reach out the Kate Zungunde, Tammie & Brittany Klassen-Rau or contact us on the "CONTACT" page.
The FSC (Field Service Commitee) has received the official dates of our 2 service days with the international delegates. Wednesday July 29th and Thursday the 30th. We are so excited to have our dates set and can now move forward with the plans.
This also is providing a new opportunity to see Jehovah's hand in making these arrangements. There is a huge call out to all, as we will need the help of you brothers and sisters to make it a success.
How can you help? Please continue to petition Jehovah through prayer to make these plans a success. When Jehovah wants something to be accomplished "nothing is impossible for you", and He will help make any needed adjustments for our 2 service days to succeed. (Matt 17:20)
We will also need as many as possible to make themselves available to help with the Thursday Night clean up so that all can get home early and prepare for the Convention the following day. Many hands make for light work and we need as many as we can get.
Thank you in advance from the entire committee for your help, prayers and willing spirit!
Have you filled out your Surveys?
It was announced at the meeting on Wednesday March 4, 2026, that the commitee wants all to fill out the surveys by the end of March. This will allow the committee to finalize plans for our special Service Day and the activities we will enjoy throughout. Thank you in advance for all your help and assistance on this special day!
This video was created for the delegates as a welcome video. It is currently on the delegates page.
The video was personally filmed by a brother in the Strathmore congregation. It captures the many different terrain, styles, and cultural feel of the Strathmore territory.
The audio itself is a cover of the original song "Our Joy of Conventions" that was played entirely by a member from the congregation.
Feb 25, 2026 - A few brothers from the IC-FSD (International Convention - Field Service Day) were interviewed and were able to share details, experiences, and the current progress/planning for the Strathmore Field Service Day(s). Details regarding this website, the planned activites, and survey forms were shared. The congregation had the opportunity to ask questions that they had at the time.
Some friends were also in the foyer of the kingdom hall having a share in live music as they welcomed ones entering for the meeting.
Feb 15, 2026 - We had a good turn out and many stayed to practice the first of many songs we will sing to our delegates. Thank you all for the energy and beautiful voices!
A wonderful part we play in Jehovah's Kingdom is telling others about that Good News.
Each country is a little different with the culture of people and territories they have. Many who are coming may have never worked country territory like we have in the Prairies. Others may never have done Public Witnessing, or even "House to House". Can you make yourself available to take a delegate in the field ministry? The memories you make with your assigned delegate will stretch beyond timezones and borders, and the friendship you establish will be a huge highlight, not just for the delegates, but yourself as well. These will be memories that will last through this system and beyond.
It was announced at our Weeknight meeting on Feb 11, 2026 that we will be practicing some songs after the Meetings on Sundays in order to prepare for welcoming the delegates. Why is this so important?
Music is a wonderful gift from Jehovah. James 5:1 reminds us "Is there anyone in good spirits? Let him sing psalms". This is a joyous occasion worth of song, would you not agree?!
Imagine the welcome of music when arriving somewhere from far away. It warms your heart, it makes the long journey worth it, it makes you feel like you belong! These delegates will be so happy to see all of us, young and old, joyously singing with loud voices to welcome them.
Remember too, you will not be alone, we will all be united in song, supporting one another, and like any preparation, practice makes perfect.... and helps with those nerves!
We are so excited to see what our International Field Service Day will look like soon!
Plans for the activities are well on their way and excitement is being built up with suprise welcomes at the meetings in the week ahead until the Convention, make sure to be there and join in the fun!
What can you do to join and have a part? Stay tuned!
